Leonard L. Vallance, 67, of Mishawaka, died Friday November 4, 2016. The Mishawaka native was born September 18, 1949 to Everett L. & Norma Jean (Smith) Vallance. On November 16, 1968 Leonard married Kathleen Ashley at St. Bavo''s in Mishawaka. Leonard was employed as a welder at Manchester Tank & Equipment in Elkhart. He was devoted to his family & enjoyed his friends; Leonard was an avid supporter of activities in which his family participated, especially softball as a former manager & the Boy Scouts as a troop leader. He was a member at Michiana Community Church of God where he served as an usher. Leonard was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was proud to cheer his team to victory in the World Series. In addition to his parents, Leonard was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Osborne. He is survived by Kathy Vallance, his wife of almost 48 years and their daughters, Norma (Robert) Baxter of Flushing MI, Georgette (Jamie) Hood of Elkhart, Evette (Tony) Wing of Mishawaka and Erica (Phil) Garrison of Osceola; sister, Valerie Pennell and brother, Bruce (Sherry) Vallance, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Philip & Bethany Garrison, Makenzie, Zoe & Max Baxter, Henry Wing, Harper & Bailey Hood; great-grandchildren, Aiden & Ryder Garrison, Xander Santiago and several nieces & nephews. Rev. Denver Burns will officiate Memorial Services at 11:00 Saturday November 12, 2016 in Michiana Community Church of God, 51637 Ash Rd, Granger, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements through Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
