Lillian E. VanHuss, age 77 of South Bend, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Lillian was born October 10, 1934 to the late Frank and Anna (Erdman) Ahlers. On April 9, 1950, Lillian married Daniel F. VanHuss. He preceded her in death, passing away in August of 2011.
Surviving is her son, James VanHuss of Mishawaka, and a daughter, Peggy Dixon of South Bend, as well as seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. VanHuss was preceded in death by her son Daniel F. VanHuss Jr. in 1982, and several brothers.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be 2 hours of calling prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Thursday, May 9, 2012. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Lillian was employed by the Bendix Corporation, which later became Allied Signal and then Honeywell, where she was friends with the staff and employees, from the President of the Company to the cleaning and maintenance staff. She retired after over 20 years of service to the company. Her family was of the utmost importance to her. She spent her time striving to be the best wife and mother she could.
