Obituary

Linda Sue Bentrup, 72, of Elkhart, IN passed away September 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Linda will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church 53198 Co Rd 9, Elkhart, IN 46514. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Linda was born April 27, 1948 to Henry Edward and Betty June (Wymer) Fisher in Spokane, Washington. She was united in marriage to Doug Brown on October 15, 1966.

She was a caring and loving mother of four children, Christy, Richard, Douglas, and Cyndi.  She was always showing God's Grace to every person she met.  She had a graceful way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved, a trait passed on to her children.  She can be described as a true and perfect example of a Proverbs 31 woman.

In January of 1987, she met Robert Bentrup while they were both working at a school in Fairplay, Colorado.  They married on September 6, 1987, at a small church next to the school.

Other than being one of the most amazing women in the world, she was a fantastic cook and baker.  Christmas cookies were her specialty.

She spent her time enjoying her bible studies, as well as gardening and putting together puzzles.

Linda lovingly was a contributing member of Northside Baptist Church.  She taught Sunday School, worked the nursery, and was the former custodian; all done with a grateful heart.  She was rarely without Bob by her side.

Those left with her memories are her children Christina Brown of Elkhart, IN, Richard (Kimber Leigh) Brown of Puako Beach, HI, Douglas (Christlina) Brown of Elkhart, IN; and Cynthia (Victor) Calkins of Elkhart, IN; 10 grandchildren, Ashlee, Jared, Dustin, Jacob, Alison, Katlynn, Alec, Max, Ian, and Titus; 10 great-grandchildren Teriana, Jared Jr., Brayden, Joel, Ryelynn, Havana, William Christopher, Nautica, Brady, and William Edward; Siblings Sandy (Steve) Bertin of New Mexico, Jeff (Kathy) Fisher of Hawaii, Gregg (Kim) Fisher of Colorado, David (Sherri) Fisher of Colorado, Jessica (Alfred) Farias of Colorado, Deb Stolpe of Nevada, and Tammie (Jim) Frazier of Arizona; and several other friends and family members.

She joins her parents Henry and Betty and her stepmother Ernestine Fisher in the warmth of Heaven.

Please join us as we celebrate Linda's life.
