Linda Fay Bowers, age 63, of Elkhart, passed away at her home on September 20, 2011. Linda was born July 14, 1948 in Jackson, Mississippi to Edward R. and Doris I. (Dozier) Posey. Her parents preceded her in death. A graduate of Jimtown High School, Linda was employed as a cosmetologist for many years before becoming a homemaker.
Surviving is her daughter, Tammy (Ronnie) Stanley of Cassopolis, Michigan, two granddaughters, Brandi Bowers and Amanda Garrigan, and three great granddaughters, Madi, Maka, and Cloee. Linda was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Scott Bowers, and her brother, Dennis Posey.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, September 23, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Linda enjoyed music, and in her younger years, played the guitar. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. In her memory, donations may be made to the American Legion Post #308.
