Linda E. Jones, age 66, of Mishawaka passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at her daughter''s home in Osceola. Linda was born October 28, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, Robert Sitniewski Sr. preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Ruth Kerkstra and her 2 children, Janette (Eric) Shapland and Melvin Jones Jr., both of Osceola. Also surviving is her former husband, Melvin Jones Sr. of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and four grandchildren; Erica (Steve) McGinnis, Jessica (fiance, Dan Kuntz) Shapland, Joshua and Jacob Shapland. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Aiden, Madelyn and Kathryn McGinnis. Linda is also survived by her twelve siblings; Larry Kerkstra, Mike Kerkstra, Jim Kerkstra, Donnie Kerkstra, Wiley (Stefanie) Kerkstra, Bob Sitniewski Jr., Barbara Barstow, Cindy (John) Deneen, Debra Woods, Julieanna Lauer, Nancy Kerkstra and Cheryl (Devron) Smith.

According to her wishes, Linda has donated her body to science to help advance a cure for Diabetes and Kidney disease. She will be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later time. Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola is assisting with arrangements.

Linda was a self employed counselor. Her giving and kindhearted nature allowed her to listen to others and help them in their time of need. She loved to travel, camp, and spend time with her family.
