Linda Robison Arata, age 68 of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Golden Living Center of Elkhart. Linda was born Oct. 5, 1944 to Charles and Dorothy Robison. Linda grew up in Osceola and graduated from Penn High School in 1963. She married Timothy Arata in August of 1964, and together, they had 4 children. She was employed by Doolittle Realty and with the St. Joseph County Assessor''s office for several years before becoming a homemaker.
Surviving are her children, Karen (Kevin) Lundahl of Laramie, WY, Christy Hurst of Punta Gorda, FL, and Jeffery Arata of Laramie, WY. She is survived by her mother Dorothy Robison of Elkhart, her brother Charlie (Jan) Robison of Osceola and her sister Judy (Michael) Pitts of Fort Worth, TX. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; Jenn, Amber, Amber, Shanele, Christina, Alyssa, Sam, Ed, Pat, Julia, Sierra, Marc, Hunt, Kaylee, Aaron, Clinton, Shane, Nicholas and Megan, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her father Charles and her daughter Michele Arata-Essington preceded her in death. Surviving as well are her nieces and nephews Johanna (Steve) Harder, Corey Robison, Scott (Colleen) Robison, John (Colleen) Ledford, and their families.
There will be a celebration of Linda''s life from 1:30-4:00 pm Sunday Sept. 29, 2013 in the Tea Room at Golden Living Center 1001 W. Hively Ave. Elkhart, IN 46517. Please ask at any of the nurses stations for directions.
Linda''s greatest joy came from being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a compassionate soul, and her unconditional love and caring was shown to all who knew her. She enjoyed expressing her creative side through ceramics, home interior design, and cake decorating. She made friends easily, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
The family requests no flowers be sent, however, donations may be made in Linda''s memory to the Osceola Church of the Brethren, 53862 Beech Road, Osceola, IN 46561.
