Linda Phelps Vasser, 64, longtime resident of Elkhart, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 13, 2018.  The South Norfolk, Virginia native was born on March 31, 1954 to Charles and Thelma (Harris) Phelps.  Linda was a caregiver and enjoyed taking care of others.  She is survived by her three children, Kimberly Whidbee, Melissa Collins, and Amy Whidbee; grandchildren, Terry Hix, Buddy Rison, Troy Wickline, Tyler Powers, and Kevin Powers; sister, Velma Shafer; and numerous friends and family.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Thelma Phelps; a grandson, Michael Wickline; longtime friends, Robert Whidbee and Tom Gilley; two brothers; and one sister.  Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 2-4 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561.  A funeral in Linda's honor will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 AM with calling one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  To leave an online condolence or sign the guest book, please visit www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
