Lorraine Simonson Fergison, 89, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away at 2:35 pm, Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Golden Living Center, Elkhart. Lorraine was born on March 4, 1923 in Cranston, WI, the daughter of the late John and Ona (Deuel) Arter. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church, Elkhart and the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Jerry) Duck of Edwardsburg, MI, four grandchildren, Laurel (Mike) DeMeulenaere, Jeffrey Duck, Pamela (Greg) Deacon, and Melissa (John) Fezy; eight great grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Kathleen, Jill, Lauren, Jared, Sarah, and Parker and two great great grandchildren, Justin and Elizabeth. She is also survived by one sister, Arlene (Noble) Hess of Elkhart. Lorraine is preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Simonson, who passed in 1967, and her second husband, Eugene Fergison, who passed in 2010, and a son, David Simonson, who passed in 2009. Also preceding her in death were four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 8, 2012 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 1133 Kilbourn St, Elkhart, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Steven Reshan will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial to Augustana Lutheran Church or Hospice of Choice.
