SOUTH BEND - Lottie Keel, 95, passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in South Bend. Lottie was born May 20, 1922 in Poland to the late, John and Kathryn Potoniec. Lottie was married to Richard H. Keel on May 20, 1948 in South Bend. They spent nearly 30 years together until his passing in 1976.
Lottie worked at Moran Elementary in the cafeteria. She loved to cook and bake especially at Christmas. She was busy during the holidays making tassies for all to enjoy. Lottie was known to have a love of house plants and adored flower gardening. She always had a neat and tidy house. Even at the age of 85, she was working full time as an industrial seamstress and it never kept her from keeping up her home. However, her family was her primary focus and she loved them very much.
Lottie is survived by her sons, Charles Keel of Elkhart and Thomas (Sara) Keel of Cassopolis, MI; sister, Irene (Nicholas) Santo of Illinois; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Keel and her brother, Joseph Potoniec.
Funeral service for Lottie will be Friday, July 28, 2017, 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
