Obituary

Louis Stephen Rodino, 68, of Elkhart, passed away at 5:55 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2011 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Louis was born on December 13, 1942 in Elkhart, the son of the late Carmen and Regina (Koppy) Rodino. On August 1, 1964, he married Jean A. Fleming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean of Elkhart, two sons, Thomas (Krista) Rodino of Oswego, IL and Matthew (Melissa) Rodino of Elkhart and three grandchildren, Anne, Bridget, and Zachary. He is also survived by four brothers, Thomas (Mary) Rodino of Bristol, Terry (Stacy) Rodino of Elkhart, Timothy Rodino of Bristol, and Stephen (Anne) Rodino of Fishers, IN; four sisters, Susan (Bob) Harbart of New Carlisle, Anita (Theron) Nunnemaker of Elkhart, Cynthia Rodino of Elkhart, and Joyce (Michael) Bashara of Buchanan, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diedre Booth, and sister, Mary Cheshier.
Louis proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. Louis worked for Bosch for over 23 years before his retirement on December 31, 1999. During his work at Bosch, held two patents for his brake designs. He was a member of St Thomas the Evangelist Catholic Church of Elkhart, Moose Lodge #599 of Elkhart, and the United Commercial Travelers #540 of Elkhart.
A Mass of Christian of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, November 4, 2011 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Rev. Bill Sullivan will officiate. Entombment will follow with full military rites in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
