Louise Marie Herthoge, age 96, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at Bell Tower Health and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born on June 7, 1929, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Phillip and Madeline (Michele) Stemes. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of many years, Charles Herthoge, who passed away on November 28, 1995, a brother, Phillip Stemes, and a sister Theresa Hermanne.

On June 28, 1947, Louise married the love of her life, Charles Herthoge, in Mishawaka. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and love. Louise was a proud homemaker who took great joy in caring for her home and those within it. She loved to laugh, had a creative spirit, and enjoyed making things with her hands. She found happiness working in her yard, cooking, and tending to the daily rhythms of home life—simple pleasures that reflected her generous heart.

Louise is survived by her son, Chuck Herthoge; her grandsons, Garrett and Grant; her brother, Thomas Stemes; her sister, Marjorie Butts.
In accordance with Louise's wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charles.
