Lula Margaret Gwin, 77, of Osceola passed away at 1:15 pm, Monday, January 16, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Lula was born on July 17, 1934 in Monette, Ark. to the late Jonah and Margie M. (Wyachof) Wallace. On October 7, 1950, she married Bobby G. Gwin. He passed away on October 3, 1983. She is also preceded in death by one son, Donald Gwin, who passed in 1993.
Lula is survived by two daughters, Diana (Dennis) Smith of Mishawaka and Deborah (David) Heavner of Osceola; four grandchildren. Kristi, Jesse, Jedadaih, and Bob; and seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Jagger, Jaden, Payton, Olivia, Joselynn and Coltan. She is also survived by sister, Mildred Metcalf of Bakersfield, CA and Jimmie Don Wallace of Maynard, Ark. and her beloved poodle, Missy
Lula was a loyal member of Currant Road Church of Christ, Mishawaka. She sold Avon products for 10 years. She will be remembered for her love of baking and taking care of others. She was a loving mother and nana.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 20, 2012 in the funeral home with Jay Winter, minister, to officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
