IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lyle Harrison
Beers
February 2, 1934 – October 10, 2024
Lyle Harrison Beers, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on February 2, 1934, to Robert Harrison Beers and Celia Beers (Linnenbrink) in Hillsdale, Michigan, Lyle dedicated his life to family, faith, and community.
Lyle worked for Elkhart Products until his retirement in 1988, where he was well-respected among his colleagues. A passionate member of the Kaiser-Frazer club, he cherished the friendships and memories made throughout the years.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life. Lyle served as a greeter and usher at Calvary Assembly of God Church and pastored in Walkerton, IN, from 1972 to 1975. He was also a member of Bethel Assembly of God and actively participated in the Elkhart Products Retirement Club, as well as the Nursing Home Ministries in Elkhart, sharing his love for God and his unwavering support for others. Lyle would witness to people who he would stop in public just to make sure they knew the love of God just as he did, caring for anyone in the entire community.
Lyle enjoyed fishing and playing basketball for the Calvary Assembly of God, finding joy in both sports and nature. He was a father figure to many, always ready to lend an ear or offer guidance.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Doris Wagamood, Lewis Beers, Robert Beers, Dale Beers, Elsworth Beers, and his grandson Carl Lyle Coe.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 and a half years Martha Beers, his children Keith (Becky) Beers, Trudy (Chuck) Conley, Melanie (Dan) Hartzler, Janet (David) Brownbridge, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a multitude of friends and community members who were touched by his kindness and generosity. Lyle's legacy of love for God, his family, and his church will be cherished by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Calvary Assembly of God on Friday, October 18, 2024, where he spent many joyful years serving his community from 10am to 12pm. A funeral will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or a charity of your choice in Lyle's memory.
