IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Louise
Beery
March 1, 1927 – July 23, 2024
Margaret Louise Beery, 97, of Osceola, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at East Lake Nursing Center in Elkhart, IN.
Born to Fred Allen and Ellen M. (Phillips) Nichols, Margaret was one of five children. She was born in Three Rivers, Michigan and moved to Mishawaka, Indiana in 1942. After graduating from Mishawaka High School she went into nursing training. In 1946 she married Richard Beery after he returned home from the Navy. Together they raised six children: five sons and one daughter in the same house for 45 years.
Margaret worked 24 years as a nurse under Doctor McGregor in Mishawaka and was a devout member of Pleasant Valley Church and later Cedar Road Church.
Her memory lives on through her children: Dave (Connie), Thomas, Richard, Steve (Dawn) , and Donald (Elizabeth) Beery.
Her eight grandchildren: Mike, Amanda, Sarah, Nicholas, Taylor, Payton, Emily, Brandon, and seven great grandchildren: Corbin, Colton, Cambri, Micah, June Lyn, Madison, and Jordan.
Those who preceded Margaret in passing are her husband Richard Beery, her daughter Vicki, parents Fred and Allen Nichols, and her siblings: Eugune Nichols, Vivian Rodgers, George Nichols, and Ernest Nichols.
Margaret loved watching game shows, Notre Dame and Colts football, solving crossword and word search puzzles, and reading. She kept a list of every book she read on an end table next to her chair. Her children and grandchildren were the delight of her life and she enjoyed the company of her family every weekend.
