Margaret E. Helsel, 95 of Elkhart, died Monday December 5, 2016 at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 26, 1921 to Virgil & Tilly Windmiller and graduated from Elkhart Central High School with the Class of 1938. Retired from Elkhart Community Schools, Margaret enjoyed cooking & baking, gardening & bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Helsel; her daughter, Barbara Stover and 3 siblings, Wayne & Howard Windmiller and Harriett Windbigler; Margaret is survived by her son, Roger (Sally) Helsel of Dunnellon FL; grandchildren, Rachelle (Tracey) Roberts & Tracy (Rich) Emmons, both of Elkhart; 7 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandson. Services Friday 2:00 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
