Margie M. Armstrong, age 89 of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Granger on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Margie was born July 23, 1932 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Charles Sr. and Margrit (Illozwei) Kedik.
Margie loved and valued her family, home and friends. Margie's life was not an easy one; yet she never complained. Through her faith, dedication, and determination she made it through every situation given to her and God blessed her for it. Margie married Ronald W. Armstrong on July 7, 1950. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2009.
Surviving is her four daughters: Sharon Burns of Mishawaka, Barbara Pinion (Joseph) of Elpaso, TX, Nancy Armstrong of North Liberty, Anna Gill (Stephen) of Granger. Also surviving is her sister Mary (Bob) Hood of Fort Wayne. Margie leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: Tammy (Jim) Radford, Anthony (Tracy) Thomas, Christina (Rodney) McCollough, Travis Pinion, Heather Pinion, Heather (Jayson) Hertel, Jillian (Brian) Brennen, Neal Sabade, Stephanie Gunter, Shawn Pinion, Courtney (Jeff) Tinker, Aaron (Lori) Armstrong, Joshua (Katya) Arnold, Clint (Emily) Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong and Todd Vaughn. Margie also leaves 36 great-grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren. Margie was also known as "mom" to Bill Keyser, Mike Raskowski, Brenda (Steve) Dermody, Dan Sabade and Ed Thomas and "grandma" to Daniel (Cassandra) Pletcher. Once you became a family member of the Armstrongs you remained one for life.
She was preceded in death by three sons: Lonnie (Gail) Armstrong, David Armstrong, Danny Robyn) Armstrong and one grandchild, Brian Thomas. Margie was also preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Kedik Jr., Michael (Dorothy) Kedik, John (Lillian) Kedik, Anna (August) Ewald, James (Judy) Kedik and her infant sister Margaret. Margie leaves us all with special memories.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home,10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
