Obituary

Marie E. Cox, 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Hurst, Texas. She was born November 29, 1917 in Ellery, Illinois to Sophia and Godfrey Schori and lived most of her life in South Bend, Indiana.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of seventy years, Harold R. Cox, sister, Margaret Locker and brothers, Lester, Raymond, Robert and Fred Schori, grandson Troy Cox, and great-granddaughter Caleigh Coleman.

Marie loved life and she was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling the country and the world with her husband. She was giving, supportive and she loved spending time with her family. We will miss her so much. We will also miss her telling us that "everything will be all right" no matter the circumstances. She has been a strong, comforting presence to all who knew her.

Loving survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Andy) Chonody , N. Richland Hills, Texas; son David (Sue) Cox , St. George Island, Florida; son Nathan (Melanie) Cox, Knoxville, Tennessee; sister Lucille (Dick) Thompson, South Bend, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Todd (Danielle) Chonody, Timothy Chonody, Tonia (Robert) Coleman, Teresa (Roger) Sexton, Ted Cox, Tom Cox, Dexter (Amy) Cox, Ashley Cox, and Ryan Cox; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew Chonody, Lindsey Chonody, Christine Coleman, Caitlin Coleman, Samantha Sexton, Stephen Sexton, Victoria Cox, Alaina Cox, Addison Cox, Helen Cox, Knoxville, former daughter-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 in the funeral home with entombment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
