Mattie Marie Green, age 82, of Granger, passed away at 7:38 pm Friday, May 14, 2010 at Arborwood Assisted Living Center in Granger. Marie was born October 30, 1927 to the late James and Nina Campbell in Polsaki, Tennessee. On February 22, 1947, Marie was united in marriage to the late Vernon Green, who passed away in 2003.
Surviving is her son, Rick A. Green and his wife Pam of Granger and two grandchildren; Niki Morrison and her husband Lonnie of Indianapolis, and Eric Green and his wife Erin of Noblesville, Indiana. Marie is also survived by her sister, Mary Vlahantonis. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Hooper, Doc, and Henry Campbell, Helen Graves, Geniva Ramsey, Vivie Pratt and Estel Griggs.
Private graveside services will be held in the Garden of the Last Supper on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Marie was employed by A&P Grocery Stores for 37 years and later by Martin''s Supermarkets for over 20 years before her retirement in the mid 1990''s. Marie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 569 in South Bend for many years. In her memory, contributions may be given to the Alzheimer''s Association or the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
