Marilyn R. Simmerman, 86, of Mishawaka, died Saturday February 4, 2017 at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart. The South Bend native was born July 21, 1930 to Donald J. & Hilda (Seybold) Lovelace. Marilyn retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and enjoyed volunteer work and crochet, making afghans & baby clothes. She was also a fan of country music and particularly enjoyed Elvis Presley. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her sister, Janet Kilpatrick and her brother, Chuck Lovelace. She is survived by her children, Sue Brach of Denver CO, Gary (Katie) Peterson of Edwardsburg, Wendi (Johnnie) Shelton of Mishawaka and Jill (Gary) Kratzer of Osceola; her brother, James Lovelace of South Bend; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside committal services are scheduled for 1:00 Saturday March 11, 2017 at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, 60995 Sumption Trail, South Bend.
