WAKARUSA - Maris L. Kraus, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday the 17th of January 2018 in Wakarusa. Maris was born July 25, 1931 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Robert and Ruby (Murdick) Dawson. She was wed to the late Richard Stump in 1949 until his passing in 1956 and later met and wed the late Richard Kraus. Together, Maris and Mr. Kraus celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage until his sudden passing in January of 2005.

Ms. Kraus was well known for her baking prowess. She made memorable confections from wedding cakes commemorating the joining of two hearts to her most famous and delicious popcorn balls, homemade candies, and unforgettable desserts. One thing her grandkids will cherish forever is the memory of walking into their Grandparent''s home to be greeted with the warmest hugs and a tasty bowl of Wagon Wheel Noodles. Maris enjoyed playing Bingo and listening and dancing with her sister to their favorite music by their adored Elvis Presley. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grand/great grandmother, and friend who will always and forever be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Maris is survived by her daughter's Linda (Rodney) Vincent and Laurie (Derek) Frantz: Her sister, Lola Stump, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Friends may call Tuesday, January 23rd from 12PM-1PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola. Funeral service will follow at 1:00PM with Pastor Keith McFarren presiding.
