Obituary

Maris D. Merencsics, age 63 of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away at her residence on February 14, 2011. Maris was born September 14, 1947 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Orville and Rubena (Outland) Futrell. On June 4, 1984, Maris married Mr. Robert Merencsics in Elkhart, Indiana. Robert survives, along with three children; Brent Futrell of Elkhart, IN, Marisa Futrell Rivers and Kayley Merencsics, both of Edwardsburg, MI. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brent Futrell II, Jamey Futrell, Robert Rivers II, and Ryan Rivers. Surviving as well are her siblings, Terry M. (Barb) Futrell of Granger, IN, Carolyn (Denver) Reed of Newton, TX, Glenda Bryant and David Futrell, both of Elkhart, IN. Preceding Maris in death were her brothers Orville Futrell Jr., Dale Futrell, and Leon Futrell. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 1:00 pm funeral services on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana. Maris was employed for many years in the office at Duo Form Plastics in Elkhart. She was a member of New Life Church in Osceola, and enjoyed Bible study and volunteering in the nursery at Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and ceramics, and traveling with her husband Robert. Maris was very friendly and outgoing, and she welcomed everyone into her home if they needed help, assistance, or guidance. In her memory, donations may be made to the Youth Group at New Life Church, Osceola, Indiana.
