Mark Hertel, age 50, of South Bend passed away on February 13, 2016 at 4:59 AM at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. He was born June 22, 1965 to Paul and Betty (Merryman) Hertel in South Bend, Indiana. Mark enjoyed singing, animals, and spending time with friends and family. Mark is survived by his mother, Betty; his siblings, Gina Piechocki of Elkhart, Madonna Walters of South Bend, Maria Hamilton of Mishawaka, Paul Hertel and John Hertel, both of South Bend; fourteen nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 2-4PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. There will be a funeral service in Mr. Hertel''s honor Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 4 PM. A private cremation committal will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are directed to the family.
