IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marlene Gail
Corey
January 14, 1951 – September 14, 2023
Marlene Gail Corey, born January 14th, 1951, has passed away September 14th, 2023 from a series of extended illnesses.
Marlene was a graduate of Riley High School of South Bend Indiana. She held various jobs over the years, but she was most proud to be a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the South Bend Moose, and served in various capacities over the years. Also, she was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ; in which she volunteered in many ways including serving on the board, participating in V.B.S., and in various women's groups.
Marlene was very talented in arts and crafts and created many things in which she sold for various charities. Among her crafts and creations were, crochet, dish towel angels, and many other crafts. Marlene loved to be around people, especially family and friends. Family get togethers around food with games was something she really treasured. She was easily startled and was the focus of many ways to scare her which ended in hearing her blood curdling scream. Above all, she had comforted many people by her unbiased love. It didn't matter who you were, all were made to feel welcomed and accepted when being around her. It is this love that will be missed most.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Sherry) Newcomer; her daughter, Laura Murphy; Son-in-Law Matthew Neff; and four grandchildren: Micheal, Richard, Danielle and Kevin; as well as many other nieces and nephews, and many others who called her Grandma or Aunt. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Ray Corey, daughter, Gail (Newcomer) Neff, brothers, George, Claude, and Sam (Jacobs), sister Cora Lee "Corky" Milewski, and parents Lonnie and Alice Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Friday September 22nd at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN.
