Marlene Dewey, 69, of Osceola, passed away 11:30 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Memorial Hospital after battling an extended illness and surrounded by her loving family. Marlene was born on August 31, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Salvadore and Genevieve (Newman) Costa. On September 11, 1965, she married James R. Dewey.
She is survived by her loving husband, James R. Dewey, five children, Lisa (Dave) Ball of Osceola, Michael Dewey of Mishawaka, Susan Dewey of Tampa, FL, Daniel Dewey of Osceola and James A. (Jessie) Dewey of Mishawaka. Nine grandchildren, Marilyn, Marcus, Ryan, Austin, Adam, Bridgette, Sierra, Ian and Caleb. She is also survived by two sisters, Maryann (Ray) Wickersham of Payette, ID and Sister Mary Pat Dewey of Adrian, MI and two brothers, Salvadore (Sharon) Costa of Virginia Beach, VA and Robert (Sharon) Dewey of Battle Creek, MI.
Marlene was a dedicated member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She will be forever loved and remembered fro her outgoing spirit and caring personality, her wonderful sense of humor and her love of family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, March 24, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. The Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm, Sunday in the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will take place at 10:30 am, Monday, March 25, 2013 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka with one hour of visitation prior to Mass in the church.
