Marlene E. Housand, 81, of Mishawaka, died on Monday, October 8, 2018.  She was born in Davenport, IA on October 10, 1936 to Harold and Marjorie (Fries) Schrader.  On June 28, 1959, Marlene married Silver D. Housand.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2010.  She was a Mishawaka High School graduate and worked as a Nurse's Aide for over 30 years.  A member of First Seventh Day Adventist Church of South Bend, she enjoyed writing in her journal and scrapbooking.  Marlene is survived by her children, Mark Housand of Mishawaka, Charles (Doris) Housand of South Bend, and James (Linda) Housand of Osceola; 12 grandchildren, Sarah Housand, Adam, Donte, Tyler, Alisha, Andrew, Crystal, Lyndayl, Rebecca, Patricia, Steven, and Katilyn; 6 great-grandchildren; and 6 siblings.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Silver D.; 2 great-grandchildren; and a brother.  A private cremation committal will take place with interment at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
