Obituary

Marquis Ray Clark, 81, of Elkhart passed away at 6:25 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. Marquis was born on November 6, 1927 in South Bend, IN to the late Cecil and Irene (Hess) Clark.
On February 20, 1947, he married Lucille Cook, who survives along with two daughters, Marcia and Marta Clark, both of Elkhart; four sons, Gregory (Melanie) Clark, Bruce Clark, Brice (Tonita) Clark, all of Elkhart and Jeffery (Rhonda) Clark of Osceola; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty Jane (Art Ziegler) Hillring of Venice, FL, Sandra Wolf of Osceola and one brother, Charles (Evelyn) Clark of North Port, FL. He is preceded in by his parents and one grandson, Derek Clark.
He graduated from Jimtown High School in 1945 and played on the first sectional basketball team. He also served in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church. He retired from the IBEW Local 153 in 1989. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and was a loyal Jimtown sports and Notre Dame fan. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Jamestown United Methodist Church, 59218 County Road 3, Elkhart. Rev. Paul Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
