Marshall Wayne Adkins, 67, of Osceola, passed away at 3:17 am, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Marshall was born on December 14, 1942 in Charleston, WV to the late John M. and Hester J. (Brogan) Adkins. On April 1, 1992, he married Dollie Littlejohn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dollie of Osceola, son, Marlon Adkins of Mishawaka; four step children, John (Carol) Podemski of Mishawaka, Matthew (Peggy) Podemski of Warsaw, James Podemski of Mishawaka and Rose Podemski of Osceola; and six grandchildren, Whitney, Tara, Matthew, Jr., Nicholas, Christopher, and Sydney. He is also survived by three brothers, Jim (Sheila) Adkins of Fairfield Glades, TN, Joe (Betty) Adkins of Walkerton, Kent (Linda) Adkins of Charleston, WV and three sisters, Loretta (Len) of Koontz Lake, Donna (Julius) Erdelyi of Walkerton, Linda Kay Adkins of South Bend. He is preceded in death by two brothers, David and John, Jr. and sisters, Betty Lou Adkins.
Marshall proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Bendix for over 30 years before his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Bowler''s Country Club and will be remembered for his love of fishing, golfing, and camping.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 10, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 pm, Friday, June 11, 2010 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
