Martha Elizabeth Bourgon passed away January 11, 2014 at Signature Healthcare of South Bend where she had resided the past two years. She was 95. Born August 16, 1918 in Elkhart she was the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Smith) Winslow. She was married to Charles (Hubbie) Bourgon on April 27, 1945. That marriage ended in a divorce in September, 1966. She worked in retail most of her adult life at South Bend stores: Gilbert''s, Robertson''s and L.S. Ayers. She continued to meet monthly with a group of coworkers from L.S.Ayres Scottsdale following her retirement. She will be especially remembered for her friendliness to everyone and her love of animals. She was a member of St. Matthews Cathedral Parish in South Bend. Martha is survived by her nieces: Marilyn Sommers (Odenton, MD), Jeanne Marszalek (Starkville, MS), close and longtime friends Connie and Bryan Graham (South Bend) and numerous nephews and nieces. Cremation will take place with private services being planned at a later date this year in the spring
