Mary E. Kempf, 69, of Shipshewana, passed away at 11:27 pm, Monday, August 26, 2013 in IU Health of Goshen. Mary was born on July 18, 1944 in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Ralph Bartels, Sr and Eleanor (Foltz) Rauch. On February 26, 1966, she married Dennis Kempf, Sr.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Dennis, three children, Debbie (Josh) Martin of Granger, Theresa (David) Garman of Goshen and Dennis Kempf, Jr. of Goshen and five grandchildren, Heather, R.J., Abbie, Chase, and Brooklynn. She is also survived by a sister, Jennie Traxler of South Bend and two brothers, Ralph Bartels, Jr. of South Bend and Herman (Marti) Bartels of Edwardsburg.

Mary graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1962. She worked for Syndicate Systems of Middlebury of for 29 years before her retirement in 2003.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A visitation will also be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 9:00-10:00 am before the graveside service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
