Mary E. Kelley, 96, of Elkhart, died Friday, December 29, 2017 at Valley View Healthcare in Elkhart. The Pruden, TN native was born July 29, 1921 to Steve and Frances (Black) Bowling, who have both preceded her in death. In 1956, Mary married Sawyer Mills, who preceded her in death. In 1973, Mary married Hubert Kelley. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mary attended the Northside Baptist Church for many years. Mary enjoyed gardening, drawing and crafts, dancing and parties, and playing Bingo. Her greatest joy was her family and her grandbabies. Mary is survived by her children, Faye Mills, Arlene (Dennis) Norris, Gary Mills, Bessie Maines, Ernest Mills, and Bertha Adams; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Sawyer Mills and Hubert Kelley; children, Sawyer Mills, Jr., Clarence Lee Mills, Stephan Franklin Mills; granddaughter, Kristen Maines; two brothers, Charlie and Dewy Bowling. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 11-1 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with a funeral in Mary''s honor at 1 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
