Mary Louise Kemp, 85, of South Bend, died at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Mary was born October 10, 1924 to the late Dewey and Christine (Vance) Whiteside. Surviving are her sons, Ralph Woods of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Van Lee Woods of Fort Worth, Texas. Also surviving is her sister, Minnie L. Brown of South Bend and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her J.C. Kemp. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mary was employed by Cardinal Nursing Home, and the University of Notre Dame for many years in the custodial field. She was involved in softball and basketball during her high school years. One of her many loves was cooking for her family.
