Obituary

Mary Lee Murray, 81 of Osceola, died on October 27, 2018.  She was born on November 16, 1936 to Holland and Cassie Mae (Nowlin) Looney in Williamson, West Virginia.  On June 2, 1956, Mary Lee married Paul Murray and he survives.  After raising her children, Mary Lee went to college and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance.  She worked hard in college and graduated with honors, was listed in the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, and a member of the National Honor Society.  She was an Accountant and Human Resources Manager and worked at Creation Windows for many years.  Mary Lee volunteered with Pet Rescue and would foster cats in her home until a suitable home could be found.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, and was an avid reader.  Mary Lee took care of her outside animals leaving food out to feed the birds, opossums, squirrels, and feral cats.  She possessed a great knowledge of the world and would give her children and grandchildren sage advice when asked.  She volunteered in various capacities, always putting herself last to help someone else.  Mary Lee is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul; her sons, Ken Murray of Portage and Ron (Tina) Murray of Spokane, WA; three grandchildren, Kristina Urban, Alexander Murray, and Indiana Heyer; one great-grandson, Simon Urban; three brothers, Don Looney, Larry Looney, and Terry Looney.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Murray; and a sister, June Maynard.  Friends and family will be received on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561.  A funeral service in Mary Lee's honor will be on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  .  To leave an online condolence or sign the guest book, please visit www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
