Mary Strycker, 89, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday morning. She was born to Claude and Hazel (King) Ford in South Bend. Mary married Orville Birk, and together they raised two children, Randy and Brian. Mary lived in the Michiana area her whole life and attended the Osceola Methodist Church. Mary loved traveling to Michigan to Big Fish Lake in Marcellus MI. where she could spend quality time with her family. Mary loved cooking and baking especially her famous butter cookies. She also enjoyed traveling to California where she was able to visit her son Brian and family. Her greatest love of all was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary later in life married Mervin"Pepper"Strycker. She is survived by husband Mervin Strycker, two sons Randy (Patty )Birk, Brian (Connie) Birk, five grandchildren Shannon(Rose), Travis(Elizabeth), Jason, Aaron(Tirzah), Nathan and three great-grandchildren Reagan, Bristol and Zemirah and her extended family of nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by husband Orville and brother James Ford. A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday October 24 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola IN. 46561 from 9:00am-10:00am with a funeral service starting at 10:00am with Rev Bob Vale officiating.
