LAKEVILLE- Maxine Dawson 85 passed away Saturday afternoon at the Mary B. Group Home in Lakeville IN. Maxine was born to Lester P. and Mary E. (Neff) Steele in Elkhart. Maxine married Glen Dawson on April 28, 1957 together they would have three children. Maxine graduated with the class of 1948 in Elkhart. She enjoyed watching the Penn Marching Kingsman Band and even watching their performance at state every year. She enjoyed traveling especially to the U.P. Maxine liked lighthouses and bird watching. A special thanks is to be given to the Mary B. Home for the love and care that was provided for Maxine. Maxine is survived by daughters April(John)Schultz, Mishawaka, Diane(Mark)Hale, Lakeville, seven grandchildren Amber, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Cody and Taylor also two great grandchildren Carter and Hayden, one brother Stanley Steele. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Glen and one son Mark Dawson. A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday September 24 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 Mckinley highway Osceola, IN 46561 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00pm with Rev. David Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family'' preferred memorial contribution is Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
