Melvin R. Schrock, 80, of Elkhart died Thursday Dec 22, 2016. He was born in Goshen on March 13, 1936 to Melvin F. & Wanda (Sprague) Schrock. The US Air Force veteran served in the Korean War and then married Edith (Simpson) on August 5, 1961. Melvin retired from Supreme and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, tinkering on projects in the garage and telling stories. Melvin is survived by Edith Schrock, his wife of 55 years and their children, Susan (Joe) Denny of South Bend, Kim Schrock Hettinger of Osceola and Lisa (Johnny) Johnson & Melvin R. "Richie" Schrock II, both of Elkhart; his aunt, Norma Vogel of Valparaiso; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service 2:00 Friday Jan 6, 2016 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy with calling one hour prior to services. The family''s preferred memorial is Heartland Hospice.
