Michael C. "Mike" Carter, 79, of Osceola, died on July 25, 2018 at 7:00 at home.  He was born April 27, 1939 to Pinkney and Clara (Stoner) Carter in Mishawaka, IN.  On March 12, 1960 he married Dorothy Oswald and she survives.  Mike attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church and worked for Penn Harris Madison School System as a custodian for over 15 years.  He was an avid Notre Dame and Cubs fan and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, fishing, and coaching softball.  His greatest joy was his family and he will be greatly missed.  Mike is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; his children, Rebecca Zimmerle of Elkhart, Linda (Jeff) Drummond of Syracuse, Mary (Brent) Clark of Osceola, and Steven (Autumn) Carter of Fishers; five grandchildren, Alicia Zimmerle of Elkhart, Bailey Clark, Emma Clark both of Osceola, Ellie Carter and Sam Carter both of Fishers; a brother, John Carter of Osceola.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughters, Chloe Clark and Kimberley Hall; sister, Crystal Krizman; and brother, Patrick Carter.  Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 30, 2018, from 12-2 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561 with a funeral service beginning at 2 PM.  Burial will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
