IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael J.
Davis
August 7, 1946 – September 12, 2023
Michael J Davis, 77, of Mishawaka passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2023. He was born on August 7, 1946 to the late Wallace and LaDoris (Schertz) Davis in Eureka, Illinois and grew up in Bridgman, MI. After high school, he served four years in the United States Navy.
On November 28,1970 he married Maxine (Bemis) Baker in Stevensville, MI who preceded him in death on April 7, 2017.
He retired from Indiana Bell (ATT) after 31 years of service as a lineman.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to the casino. He also loved bowling and bowled in various leagues over the years. If there was a Cubs game, Bears or Notre Dame Football game on, you can bet he was watching it. He was quite a jokester just as his father before him.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters Dee (Bill) Milum of Richardson, TX, Tracy (Chris) Belakovich of Elkhart, IN, Holly (Kevin) Alfrey of Elkhart and son Wally of Paragould, AR. He is also survived by grandchildren Kristina (Kyle) Parrott, Amanda Craft, Kaley (Nathan) Amonett, Morgan (Luke) Boehnlein, Abby Alfrey, Cody, Michelle, Wally and Philip Davis, along with his great grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters Linda (Paul) Kutia of CT, Cathy (Skip) Carney of FL and brothers Phil (Betsy) of CT and Dan of Morocco. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog Maggie Doodle.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Sanctuary of Holy Cross who provided care to him during his last few years.
Friends may visit with the family from 11-1 PM Monday September 18, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561. A Funeral Service in his honor will begin at 1 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
