Michael A. "Mitch" Krawiec, 84, of Elkhart, passed away March 30, 2012 in Elkhart General Hospital. Mitch was born on July 23, 1927 in Elkhart, the son of Adam and Rozalia (Nasaink) Krawiec. On November 1, 1952, he married Maxine Smith. She passed away on April 3, 2008.
He is survived by one sister, Stefania Wetzel of Granger, several nieces and nephews, Ronald Krawiec of Sanford, MI, Sharon Brown of Elkhart, Stephen Krawiec of Oshkosh, WI, Carol Pessefall of Elkhart, Jeff Krawiec of Elkhart, Gary Wetzel of Granger, Nancy Rensberger of Mishawaka, Rich Wetzel of Niles, Michael McKim of Muncie, Patty Porter of Lebanon, IN and Jeanie Stump of Wakarusa. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Maxine, brother, Frank, two sisters, Victoria Marks and Delores McKim and two nephews, David Krawiec and Bruce Marks
Mitch proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for CTS in Tool & Die for many years. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Elkhart. He will be remembered for his love of gardening, visiting friends and his handyman skills.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
