Michael James Powers, 64, of Mishawaka, passed away at 1:57 am, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 surrounded by family. Mike was born on January 15, 1949, the son of the late James and Jeanne (Markin) Powers.

He is survived by two children, Jason (Angela) Powers and Kandi Lindzy, both of Mishawaka and two grandchildren, Kyleigh Lindzy and Cody Powers. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mandy Powers

Mike loved racing and was known as "Mighty Mike" to the local racing community. He was the flagman and pit steward at New Paris Speedway, South Bend Motor Speedway and the Plymouth Speedway for many years.

His family would like to extend a special thanks for the outpouring of love and support from his best friends, Brinn (Robin) Spencer, hospice and the racing community.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm, Friday, March 15, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the family.
