Mildred Lee Frick, age 90 of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame. Mildred was born March 31, 1123 in McAllister, Oklahoma to the late Bridge and Sara Elizabeth (Shelton) Lewis. On September 14, 1941, she married Delbert Leroy Frick. They were married 68 years before he passed away in February of 2010.
Surviving are her children, Franklin (Karen) Frick of South Bend, Indiana and Penny (Michael) Michaels of Granger, Indiana. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Clayton Michaels, Asheley James, and Sarah (Ryan) Nalepinski. Mildred is survived as well by 3 great grandchildren; Ethan, Riley and Avary, as well as her in-laws, Al Quigley, Clarence (Delores) Frick, and Maxine Lewis. She was preceded in death by her siblings Myrtle Kurzhal, Gertrude Buckner, Bertha Shula, Ruth Hetfield, Pearl Quigley, Betty Town, Kenneth L. Lewis, Lucien E. Lewis, Zearl R. Lewis, and Billy Lewis.
Funeral services and interment will be private Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mildred moved to South Bend in 1933, and was employed at Bendix during WWII, before becoming a homemaker after the war. She was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren. Following Delbert''s retirement in 1983, she and her husband moved to Florida before coming back to South Bend to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family.
