Nancy A. DeVan, 75, of South Bend, lost her battle with a recent illness, passing peacefully on Thursday October 26, 2017, surrounded by her family. The Anderson native was born November 7, 1941 to Joseph & Mary (Lothammer) Nemeth and was employed as a courier with Beacon Health. A loving & caring person, Nancy enjoyed travelling with her sister & sister-in-law, caring for her cats and watching Notre Dame and the Cubs. In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard & James Nemeth. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Missy) Creighton of South Bend; son, Thomas J. Slaby of Madera CA; sister, Mary Helen Nemeth of Batavia OH; brothers, Robert (Linda) Nemeth of Naperville IL, William Nemeth of South Bend; 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson and several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Wednesday November 1, 2017 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Private interment on Thursday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
