Nancy Sue Orszulak, née Stitzel, 83 of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday June 13, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana to Richard L. and Dorothy L. Stitzel (DeMass). Nancy married Larry Orszulak on February 9, 1963, and together they shared 63 years of love, joyful banter, and hard work, and raised their two daughters, Laurie and Tammy.

Nancy graduated from Riley High School South Bend and retired from Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center South Bend. For decades, she was a unit secretary at Saint Joseph Hospital, ending her career in the Admission Discharge Unit. Nancy continued as a volunteer for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka for several years after her retirement.

Nancy loved her many pets over the years, both dogs and cats. Her dog, Rusty, was by her side during her last few months watching over her as a constant companion. Nancy's favorite thing to make for dinner was a reservation, particularly at Doc Pierce's in downtown Mishawaka. For dessert, she would often have a grasshopper or a Kahlua coffee. She frequently visited West End Bakery and Princess Bakery with her family to get donuts or breakfast on Saturday mornings. She took her coffee with just a dab of sugar and a cookie. Nancy always enjoyed the sunshine, whether it was in her backyard, or vacationing in her favorite sunny places like Saugatuck and Florida.

Nancy attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka faithfully for many years. Nancy and Larry received a Golden Jubilee blessing for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, brother-in-law (Dennis Orszulak), nephew-in-law (Todd Dies), and her sister (Sally Settles).

Nancy is survived by her husband Larry Orszulak of Mishawaka and their two daughters Laurie Orszulak and Tammy Orszulak of South Bend. She is also survived by her nephew Michael Higgins (Doris), nieces Michelle Dies (Todd) and Dawn Settles, sister-in-law Kathy Orszulak (Dennis) and their two daughters Rachel and Audrey. Nancy was a favorite great aunt and honorary grandmother to her many great nieces and nephews: Madeline and Luke, Evan and Aaron, and Ryleigh, and a loving great-great aunt to Ryleigh’s daughter, Maple.
