Nelda J. Cooper, 83, of Elkhart, died Monday December 9, 2019 at the Elkhart Center for Hospice. Nelda was born in Hope AR on January 19, 1936 to Willie & Ethel (Pirce) Smith. On December 23, 1952, she married Herbert D. Cooper. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1993 after 40 years of marriage. Nelda was employed as a Produce Manager at Martin's and enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, reading and spending time with her family & friends. She is survived by her children, H. Wayne (Lori) Cooper of Elkhart, Jim Cooper of Clermont FL and Tim (Toni Matney) Cooper of Elkhart; her grandchildren, Andrew (Danielle) Cooper of Indianapolis, Melody (Travis) Hayes of Eustis FL, Jimmy Cooper of Clermont FL, Matt (Kasara)Cooper of Indianapolis and Alexis Cooper of Elkhart; eleven great-grandchildren and two sisters.  Funeral Services 2:00 Wednesday December 18, 2019 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
