Obituary

Norma J. Clark, 91, of Elkhart, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her home. She was born September 24, 1926 to Jacob Edwin and Edythe Catherine (Forry) Yoder. She was a graduate of Concord High School and was married to Edward Paul Goodman from June 15, 1946 to 1972. During her life Norma waitressed and made pies at Eby Pines Restaurant; she made instrument cases at Markley, Inc. and worked at Miles Laboratories, from which she retired in 1982. Over the years she volunteered as a leader for the Bristol Boosters 4-H Club, taught VBS and the Good News Club at Sugar Grove Church, and also volunteered at Doctor''s Hospital in Sarasota FL. She enjoyed flowers, candles, jigsaw puzzles, road trips, her dog Misty and listening to Gaither Gospel music. She also made beautiful wedding cakes and many family members and babies have been recipients of her beautifully crocheted afghans. In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her step-father, Manford E. Bechtel; one son, Larry E. Goodman; one great-grandson, Eric I. Garcia; one half-sibling, JoAnn (William) Livingston and ten step-siblings. She leaves, not to mourn but to cherish good and fond memories, children Rita J. Raval and Catherine (Orvan) Mabie, both of Elkhart as well as a son, Dale E. Goodman of Sarasota, FL; half-siblings Hazel Diane (Herbert) Polmateer of Cassopolis, MI and Dwight H (Amparo) Yoder of Chihuahua, Mexico; seven grandchildren, Jenny (Scott) Masterson of Elkhart, Mark (Kimberly) Goodman of Texas, Christopher (Tanya) Mabie of Osceola, Jason (Jennifer) Goodman of Texas, Joshua Goodman of Texas, Brian Raval of Mishawaka, Angela (Jose) Garcia of Elkhart and fifteen great-grandchildren. Norma was cremated in accordance with her wishes and she will be laid to rest near her mother at Prairie Street Cemetery with a private service. Norma''s life will be celebrated at a memorial service, to be held at 3:00 Sunday January 21, 2018 at Northside Church of the Nazarene, 53569 CR 7, Elkhart, with Pastor Tim Sheets officiating.
