Oneda W. Herron, age 83, of Mishawaka passed away on March 10, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. She was born May 1, 1932 to William E. and Wylodean (Phillips) Wood in Lauderdale County, Alabama. On December 23, 1949, Oneda married James Herron. He preceded her in death. She loved cooking, quilting, family time, and reading her Bible. Oneda is survived by her children, Barbara (Tom) Cox of Wisconsin, Dorothy Herron of Mishawaka, Jamie (Debra) Herron of Knightstown, Indiana, Kathy Herron, David (Cindy) Herron, Carolyn (Guy) Burkes, and Robert Herron, all of Mishawaka ; twelve grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Robbie "Jo" Parrish of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters, and a brother. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 from 9-11 AM. A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Herron''s honor on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Maulden officiating. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following the service.
