Obituary

Patience L. "Pat" Cable, age 89 of Mishawaka, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Rivercrest Specialty Hospital. Pat was born February 9, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Edward L. and Effie A. (Silvers) Lewis. On July 26, 1945, Pat married Duane Cable in the Nazarene Church in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Duane survives, along with their children, Judy (Bill) Buraczewski of Mishawaka, Glen L. Cable of Carson City, Nevada, and Phillip A. Cable of Mishawaka. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; Ann (Mark) Taylor, Shelley (Craig) Nowacki, Bill (Melissa) Buraczewski, Marilyn (Dana) Muscot, Glenna (Jesse) Tschetter, Tina Cable and Chris (Star) Cable. Pat is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is survived as well by her brother, Bob (Julia) Lewis of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jane Sailor, and her daughter in law Beverly Cable.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th Street, South Bend, Indiana 46615. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana.
In her younger years, Pat was employed at Robertson''s Department Store in South Bend. She then became a homemaker, taking care of her husband, 3 children, and her mother. She grew up in the Nazarene Church, and attended Mt. Olivet College in Kankakee, Illinois. Pat enjoyed her time at the Nazarene Church, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She and her husband Duane had attended Gospel Center for several years.
Pat''s kind and sweet demeanor was apparent to everyone who had the privilege of meeting her. She loved spending time with her family, and was loved by many.
