IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Ann
Flannery
October 13, 1945 – July 19, 2024
Patricia Flannery, aged 78, passed away on July 19th, 2024, following years of declining health.
Patricia (Pat), was born on October 13th, 1945, to Theodore W. Merey and Ann M. (Juraszek) Merey in Oak Park, Illinois. Pat graduated from St. Joseph High School in South Bend in 1963
and attended Marian College in Indianapolis for one year.
Pat met Donald L. Flannery in 1963 when she accidentally ran her car into his Corvette. They
married in 1965. Don was the love of her life. They worked together at Angelo Industrial Motor
Rebuilding Service, Inc. in Elkhart until they adopted two children, and Pat stayed at home as a
full time homemaker. Pat and Don were married for nearly 40 years until he passed in 2005. Pat is also preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brother-in-law, Randy Schnick.
Pat is survived by her two children, James Flannery of Atlanta, Georgia, and Shannon (Patrick)
Sherman of Mishawaka, along with her grandsons Mason and Gabriel Sherman. She is also
survived by her sisters Joan Schnick of Mishawaka and Diane (Jim) Davis of Checotah,
Oklahoma, and her niece Kristin Davis of North Richland Hills, Texas.
Pat's greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She loved doting on them and spending time
with them by her pool. She was an avid gardener and kept her backyard as a welcoming oasis.
Pat loved to go out to eat with family and friends and enjoyed playing with her grandchildren
whom she adored. When meeting new people, she could always remember everyone's name
she came into contact with and could always find something to talk about. Her beautiful smile
and laugh will be missed, and her memories will always be cherished.
Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with the funeral service following at 12:00 PM.
