Patricia Ann 'Pat' Kania, 78, of Middlebury, passed away at 6:00 pm, Monday, November 7, 2011 in Rivercrest Hospital, Mishawaka. Pat was born on May 4, 1933 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Jesse and Edith (Snyder) Smith. On November 22, 1951, she married Donald Kania. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald of Middlebury, five children. James Kania of Shipshewana, Cathy (David) Edwards of Leesburg, FL, Theresa Kania of Elkhart, Maria (Kevin) Hardy of Wayne, MI, and Scott Kania of Middlebury, 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Helen (Ron) Merkel of Fish Lake, IN. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Bednarze. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services 9:30 am, Friday, November 11, 2011 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
