IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia A.
Taylor
April 24, 1931 – June 30, 2023
Patricia A. Taylor, 92, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka.
Pat was born April 24, 1931 in South Bend, IN to the late Russell and Opal (Strahle) Handley. She graduated in 1949 from Central High School in South Bend. On August 25, 1951, as Patricia Handley, she married Richard J. Taylor, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2021. She was also preceded in death by infant sons, Kenneth and Steven; infant daughter, Connie; brothers, Robert Ahnemiller and Elmer Handley; and sisters, Helen Alexander, Betty Walkden, Doris Worthy and Ella Smorse. Pat is survived by her son Richard W. Taylor of Osceola, IN; her daughter, Diane (Tim) Chapman of Niles, MI; sisters, Ruth Yocum of Winona Lake, IN and Linda Colson of Michigan; brother, Robert Handley of Granger, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a mom and a homemaker, Pat worked at Simplicity Pattern Co. for many years and later at Walter Piano Company. She loved animals, but had a special fondness for dogs. She and Richard had many dogs throughout their life together that brought much joy and humor to the household. Pat's apple pie and potato salad were world-class and were often requested for family gatherings. She hosted many potluck suppers over the years. In her later years, she also enjoyed getting on Facebook to keep up with family and to watch puppy and dog videos. She would send us a "thumbs up" before bed each night and again in the morning to let us know she was okay. Her quick wit, sense of humor and spunky attitude will be missed by all.
A gathering will take place at her gravesite on Tuesday July 18, 2023 at 11 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pet Refuge.
