Patsey Jean Jobe, age 80, of South Bend, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2014. Patsy was born January 8, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Edna Hanson. On April 27, 1957, she married Veachel Jobe. He preceded her in death, passing away in December of 1991.
Surviving are her sons, Norman O''Banion and his wife Veronica and James E. Ford, both of South Bend. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law Patty.
Patsey was a waitress for many years in the South Bend area. She loved to buy antiques and sell them at auctions and flea markets, and enjoyed spending time fishing and camping with her family. She was also well known for her sense of humor.
Her Christian faith led her to become the founder of the First Pentecostal Church in Edwardsburg, and later she worshipped at Christ Temple in South Bend, where she taught Sunday School, and loved ministering to children. She most recently attended the Walkerton United Pentecostal Church.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
